What are recycled logos?
Not everyone is ready to drop $5k+ on their brand image for their small business startup; but you probably know that you’re going to need at the very least a logo to stand out among the well-branded crowd. I don’t believe in cutting corners, but I do believe in finding unique solutions within difficult parameters. That’s why I decided to recycle old logos from past projects that never made the cut, in the slight chance that one of them captures another business’s message. These are now for sale at a flat rate for those startups halted by constraining budgets and deadlines.
According to my typical logo and branding design method, I walk my clients through an in-depth soul-searching process to discover more deeply who they are as a company. I then take a stab at turning their essence into something visual. I present two or three logo concepts that are narrowed down to a single winner, which is then refined through a series of revisions.
So where did these logos come from? These are the logo concepts that didn’t quite hit the nail on the head, but were still good designs worth keeping around for future use. Many times, clients have a hard time choosing between logo concepts. The determining factor in ruling them out is often that it doesn’t quite match the brand messaging developed prior to the logo, the logo’s affect on additional brand materials such as colors, fonts, patterns, or textures, where and how the logo will appear, or simply because the client could only have one logo. I’ve revisited these in my archives, tweaked them to where I think they would be considered “done,” and believe they are ready to be used by any business that wants them. I have not put any logos up for sale that I believe are not well-designed or contain incriminating flaws that were the cause of their not being selected by the original client.
To protect the professionalism and quality of each logo, I promise to only sell them once. If you purchase a recycled logo I’ve designed, it will never be sold again. So you get the best of both worlds: the ease, immediacy, and affordability you’d get from a cheap, mass produced graphics site, but with the one-of-a-kind nature of a logo specially created for you, that no one else in the world can share.
What’s more, if you see a logo that is on its way to being perfect for you, but still in need of a few tweaks, you can easily add on a single revision for an extra service charge. You can also add on a custom word mark (the name of your company arranged to go well with the icon portion of your logo). And, last but not least, if you’re totally confused as to which logo you should go for, or if this one-stop-shop is the right solution for you, reach out. I’d be happy to talk with you to help you find the best fit, and your first consultation is free! Best of luck with your venture!
