Recycled Logo: Lion
Bundle includes: 1 logo in 3 color variations, in Adobe Illustrator and EPS vector format, JPG and PNG formats, with color palette HEX codes.
Not everyone is ready to drop $5k+ on their brand image for their small business startup; but you probably know that you’re going to need at the very least a logo to stand out among the well-branded crowd. I don’t believe in cutting corners, but I do believe in finding unique solutions within difficult parameters. That’s why I decided to recycle old logos from past projects that never made the cut, in the slight chance that one of them captures another business’s message. (Read More)
This logo was originally proposed to a client whose specialty was creating textile embroidery portraits of wildlife. The icon is the face of a lion—an image of a fighter, the wild and free, communal, authentic, just, and courageous. The lion is also a symbol of kingship, which gives a sense of authority that speaks to the audience of donors and activists who see themselves as responsible for tending to the Earth.
This logo utilizes negative space and is similar in style to many wildlife preservation logos such as the World Wide Fund for Nature panda. The face has a lot of movement, which adds a wildness and free feel to it. The lion’s mane is swept up in a gust of wind, which—in Christianity and other cultures—is a symbol of the Spirit. This adds a supernatural quality to the image. Think: Aslan in Narnia.
The hairs of the mane are meant to appear as threads, which turn into stitching as they leave the face, pointing to the method with which the original client’s portraits are made. These form a circle around the lion, which symbolize the circle of life, unity, harmony, recycling and conservation.
This logo can be reapplied to a variety of meanings for many different organizations, including conservation initiatives, zoos or pet supplies, spiritual communities, mental health programs, artists, and more.
Optional: Add tweaks to this design (i.e. color palette changes, adjustment of design elements, and/or the addition of your business name next to the logo plus font pairings) for an additional charge.
